Adults > Dual-Diagnosis Program
Our Dual Diagnosis Program is designed for patients who have a Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric Diagnosis. This program focuses on both components of an individual's treatment equally, and we offer a combination of elements from the Chemical Dependency and Psychiatric Programs. Specifically, in the Dual Diagnosis Program, we offer the following:
- provision of care in a safe, supportive environment,
- diagnoses representing all presenting issues,
- comprehensive treatment, discharge, and relapse prevention plans,
- individual, family, and group therapy,
- education about positive coping skills,
- integration into the AA or NA community,
- detoxification in a safely monitored environment (if needed), and
- medication stabilization.
Similar to the Chemical Dependency Program, we utilize the 12-step Model within our Dual Diagnosis Program, and highly encourage engagement in Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous. We provide weekly meetings on campus at the Acadia Lodge. Additionally, our Aftercare Program is designed to hold patients accountable and help them to be successful upon discharge. Aftercare takes place every Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Acadia Lodge.
